Common use

Dosage and direction

Possible side effect

Lonitab may have the following common side effects: Swelling; Increased heart rate (tachycardia); Headache; Excessive hair growth; Weight gain; Breast tenderness; Rash or itching; Nausea and vomiting.

Drug interaction

Antihypertensive Medicines: Using alongside other blood pressure-lowering medicines like atenolol and amlodipine may intensify the effect, causing a drastic drop in blood pressure.
Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs): Medicines like ibuprofen and naproxen may reduce the effectiveness of Lonitab.
Oral Contraceptives: Lonitab tablet may decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills.

Missed dose

In case you forget to take your scheduled dose of Lonitab, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it's nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your standard dosing schedule. Avoid increasing your dosage without consulting your doctor.

Overdose

In case you take more than the recommended dose of Lonitab, you might experience symptoms like a rapid heartbeat, fainting, or dizziness. If these symptoms persist, inform your doctor.

Storage
